**With French estate agents, it is the buyer of a property in France who pays their commission. This is typically between 6-8% of the purchase price and is usually included in the price being quoted. What will not be included are notary fees. On signing an intial contract called a sous-seing you will be asked to make a deposit - typically 5-10% of the purchase price. There is a 'cooling off' period of 7 days from the day of signing in which the deposit is completely refundable.**
